The ‘Yogini Aditi’ is a representation of divine feminine power. In Sanskrit, ‘Aditi’ is the word for ‘limitless’. This painting is born of the energy of total empowerment and creative energy. She is the mother of all creation, and reminds us that we are the creators of our universe.
She is represented as a ‘Yogini’ (the feminine of ‘Yogi’)because Yoga means ‘To connect’ She represents connecting with your inner goddess, your inner creative being. Connecting with this power is an incremental practice, and this painting is for the purpose of inspiring that practice.
In the Vedas, Aditi (Sanskrit: अदिति “limitless”) is mother of the gods (devamata) and all twelve zodiacal spirits from whose cosmic matrix, the heavenly bodies were born. As celestial mother of every existing form and being, the synthesis of all things, she is associated with space (akasa) and with mystic speech (Vāc). She may be seen as a feminized form of Brahma and associated with the primal substance (mulaprakriti) in Vedanta. She is mentioned nearly 80 times in the Rigveda: the verse “Daksha sprang from Aditi and Aditi from Daksha” is seen by Theosophists as a reference to “the eternal cyclic re-birth of the same divine Essence” and divine wisdom.-Wikipedia
Someone who practices yoga or follows the yoga philosophy with a high level of commitment is called a yogi (may be applied to a man or a woman) or yogini (traditionally denoting a woman)
“I have created all worlds at my will, without being urged by any higher being, and I dwell within them.
I permeate the earth and heaven, all created entities with my greatness, and dwell in them as eternal and infinite consciousness.”
— Devi Sukta
